Directing Assignments
Videos I shot, planned and directed from school scripts for my directing module
'A Slow Fast'
When I was just starting out in my directing module, we were tasked individually to form a lined script, shot list, blocking plan and storyboard from one of the scripts, 'A Slow Fast'. Then, we made use of what we did, to create a video, with our own interpretation of the film. Thus, throughout the shoot of 'A Slow Fast', I directed the actors to what kind of expressions and actions I wanted them to have and also where I wanted them to be positioned.
'Bangkit'
Similar to the above assignment, we were tasked to create a blocking plan from 'Bangkit's' script and film a video based on it. However, this time, we made use of the actor's interpretation on the story to direct them as well. Thus, through this assignment I learned how to both listen and communicate my vision to the actors, to allow them to portray the character that best fits both our interpretation of them.
'16 Melodies'
This assignment was similar to the above 2 assignments, just that the acting in this assignment would be graded as well. Thus, that made me focus a lot on how they were portraying the character.
